Public Opinion

by Jeff

Image text: News networks giving a greater voice to viewers because the social web is so popular are like a chef on the Titanic who, seeing the looming iceberg and fleeing customers, figures ice is the future and starts making snow cones.

I completely agree.  Those "voices on the street" segments are probably the most awkward segments ever as well.  Must. Change. Channel.

  1. And what will you do, Jeff, when all the channels will be doing this and there will be no other channel to switch to? Reminds me of “First they took over the news channels and I did nothing, because I did not watch the news…”

    • “Then they showed Punkin Chunkin on the Science Channel and Nazi Mayan UFOs abducting Elvis on the History Channel and I did nothing, because I stopped watching TV”.

  2. Many times on CNN they have videos with interesting headlines underneath. I click on them, and it’s nothing but Jeannie fucking Moos with her word on the street reports. I swear, the CNN brass probably looked at her and said “here, we’ll give you the pointless assignments, while everyone else gets to talk about real news”.

They’re human interest stories, but all Moos does is go out on the New York sidewalks and ask people “hay guyz wut do u think of this vid” for 2 minutes.

  3. No new content? Two unexplained XKCD’s on the air! (well ok, they don’t need that much explanation, but anyways)

    • Sorry about that Jason. I was in the process of moving and had no internet. It was terrible!
