Statistician Nate Silver became something of a geek celebrity for his analysis during the presidential campaign of 2008. He correctly predicted the outcomes of 49 of the 50 states in the 2008 election on his blog.

He has mainly been referenced in either title text, in a short notice or by referring to his FiveThirtyEight blog as in 635: Locke and Demosthenes. This blog was founded by Nate in 2008. The blog takes its name from the number of electors in the United States electoral college: 538. It is a website that focuses on opinion poll analysis, politics, economics, and sports blogging.
