Explanation

Ambox notice.png This explanation may be incomplete or incorrect: New comic

A Tournament bracket shows the planned series of games in a tournament. In this comic Randall has shown a plan for a tournament between a wide range of cultural icons, both real and fictional, based mostly on similarities in their names. Various internet groups have speculated on who would win in a fight between characters from different films. It may be relevant that the film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is soon to be released.

The title text is likely a reference to Dr. Dre, particularly as a reference to his 2001 song "Forgot About Dre". Additionally, the title text could be talking about Mr. Spock's friend Leonard McCoy or simply be a reference to the large number of pop culture references that include the word "Doctor" to include Dr. J, Dr Pepper, and Doctor Doom, among others. Another possibility is that the title text is supposed to make the readers ask themselves "Doctor who?" then realize that The Doctor is already listed, still making them feel they forgot someone.
