[edit] "get a coffee" -> "sit by a lake"

The (admin-editable only) sitenotice currently suggests to go "get a coffee" while things stabilize about the heavy server load. I'd say it would be much more appropriate to suggest instead to go "sit by a lake" Face-smile.svg (with the appropriate link to xkcd.com, not here...). - Cos (talk) 23:14, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

Great idea!  Done :) --Waldir (talk) 12:26, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

[edit] Note at the top, about the server error

The message is a little out-dated, as the comic (1190: Time) is not the latest anymore. I propose that the second sentence be changed to say "... in light of 1190: Time ..." Also, it would provide a quick, easy link to 1190: Time. Just a thought.

Good point, I'll change it :) --Waldir (talk) 11:58, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
update: Davidy22 beat me to the punch, although he didn't tell anyone ;) --Waldir (talk) 12:01, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
Well, I think the message is now getting completely obsolete, things seem to have returned to a normal enough state to remove it, no? - Cos (talk) 12:27, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

[edit] Suggested addition

I think we should use {{#ifeq:{{PAGENAME}}|240:Dream Girl|This is today's incomplete explanation of the day.|Today's...is 240: Dream Girl.}} Help us fix it!. This would provide a better message for those visiting the actual page. -- 108.162.219.220 15:14, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

It would have been a good idea, but I forgot about Mediawiki namespaces. Sitenotice isn't transcluded into pages, it's a separate thing appended to the top of a page, so it doesn't inherit the current page name. Davidy²²[talk] 18:20, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
