[edit] Category pages

You can categorize pages with a non-existent category and MediaWiki will create a default page (still red linked) for the category. We try not to create empty categories until they have explanations that fall into that category. I try to hold off creating categories until I have at least two definite pages that go into it. Thus, my post in the Coordination Community Portal. lcarsos (talk) 20:04, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

I'll try to keep that in mind from now on; sorry about that. Usually, in wikis I frequent, people create categories if they're needed, even though they're unused. ??? 20:09, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, that message has pretty much become a reflex since I started editing here. People get a little over-zealous about categorization here. Which means that the usefulness breaks down when someone clicks on a category link expecting to see a whole host of comics on that topic, but there's only the one comic. lcarsos (talk) 20:26, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
