Hmm is there a way we can have a column linking to the original explainxkcd blog entry if it exists? --SurturZ (talk) 08:55, 5 August 2012 (EDT)
:Sure, that makes perfect sense, especially since the comments were very important for many of the comics. Feel free to add it :) --Waldir (talk) 14:27, 5 August 2012 (EDT)
Create not working
The create-links don't work because "Template:Create" has to be written with a capital C. Unfortunately, text replacing is not installed. --Kronf (talk) 13:58, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
:For future reference, Kronf himself 11070 the template to the lowercase title to make this work. Waldir (talk) 18:01, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Dates
The dates for comics 12 and 5 can be deduced from the dates of the adjacent comics - they're all 2005-09-30. We can also make a jab at guessing that comic number 36 is between 2005-10-28 and 2005-10-26. Those comments in the source annoy me, and I wish them gone. We could also jump on the XKCD forums and see if they know anything, but the relative dates should be telling enough. Davidy22(talk) 09:06, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

:XKCD back in 2005 was not published on a regular schedule. Randall doesn't have logs from when those comics went live, so the dates are in fact lost to history. lcarsos_a (talk) 15:57, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

::Yeeah, but we can see from the dates on comics submitted around the unknowns that the first 14 comics seem to have been batch-uploaded on the same day, and that comics 35 and 37 leave a three-day range that comic 36 could have been published on, the most likely of those dates being 2005-10-27 given the way that Randall seems to never release two comics on the same day after his initial 14. Davidy22(talk) 06:10, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

According to xkcd archive the first comics are released on 01.01.2006 at xkcd. I think we should reflect this here and only mention earlier releases at explanation. What do you think?--Dgbrt (talk) 20:34, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

:Those are automatically entered dates for null fields. They're not necessarily correct. It would be nice if we could figure out exactly when they were uploaded though. Not enough information, we'll probably just have to build up clout and grill Randall for information. Nooot optimal. ::You're right, it's not optimal. When I am looking for historical websites I am often using this site: web.archive.org. The first entry gave me this:
:::http://www.xkcd.com:80/ | 17:01:40 Dec 17, 2003
:::Got an HTTP 302 response at crawl time
:::Redirecting to...
:::lacuna.res.wpi.net/~xkcd
::Whois is telling this (Registered through: GoDaddy.com):
::: Domain Name: XKCD.COM Created on: 25-Jan-03
::So it seems it's really hard to determine what Randall did ten years ago. Needs many more investigations...--Dgbrt (talk) 20:58, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
Another herb that has been receiving recent StrictionD attention is called bitter melon. It works by blocking the absorption of sugar through the intestines. A recent study showed that taking this herb for three month resulted in a greater reduction of sugar levels for the patients taking it than those who were taking a placebo. The recommended serving size for bitter melon is three to six tablespoons a day if taken fresh.

An herb that has found to be extremely effective in the reduction of diabetes symptoms is one that comes from India known as gymnema sylvestre. It literally translates into "sugar destroyer". It works by stimulating your body to product more insulin naturally and therefore balances your body out. The need for supplemental insulin can be reduced quite markedly for diabetes patients.

If you are looking to increase your energy levels, you might want to try the ginseng herb. Diabetes patients have discovered the truly remarkable effects of this herb. Ginseng also slows down the rate at which your body absorbs carbohydrates. Your body reaps the benefits of the ability to use the glucose in addition to increasing the production of insulin from the pancreas. It is believed that ginseng can lower you blood glucose levels between fifteen and twenty percent.
