		+	:Yeah I don't like these "doomsday" inferences because they're really stretching. Randall alludes to no such thing in the comic. So let us not take it so far. First, it is correct that the 2012 date was 21st December and not 12th. Surely he would not make a rookie mistake or let it stand. He is not dyslexic. Second, John Conway's "Doomsday rule" really doesn't refer to the end times or apocalypse. It is the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and this is a big deal for all Latinos as their national patroness, so anyone who considers any "12 December" day as the end of times may be a touch xenophobic or defeatist, I mean especially with the Mesoamerican/Mayan superstition thing mixed in. I had totally assumed the former (especially given the context). The idea that it could be referencing an appliance did not occur to me at all until reading the suggestion in the table that there would normally be "zero, with perhaps one or two in a break area," which took me a few beats to process. Personally I'm more fond of my original interpretation, but I'm starting to feel that it could be, uhm, debunked (although I suppose with digital technology and the right junction bandgap 'microwave photos' could be a thing).
