Schrödinger's_cat Is a famous thought experiment proposed by Erwin Schrödinger in which a cat inside a box with a complex apparatus might be alive or dead after 1 hour. Doing calculations on the state of the system would require accounting for both a living and dead cat. This would result in very complex calculations due to having to account for a seemingly simple alive/dead state. Simply opening the box and looking would tell you which state is currently correct and save quite a bit of calculation.

[Schrödinger's Comic]

[The last panel of this comic is both funny and not funny at the same time.]

[Until you read it, there's no way to tell which it will end up being.]
