Randall has used the phrasing “news anchor” directly in [[1086: Eyelash Wish Log]], news caster in [[727: Trade Expert]] and just reporters in [[1368: One Of The]]. But at the time of this category’s creation all comics with a news anchor has already been corrected to use that version, so thus this name has been chosen.

After the creation of the category Cueball and Blondie shared a comic as two types of presenters in [[1985: Meteorologist]], taking them both to seven, but with [[2080: Cohort and Age Effects]] Cueball surpassed her once again with eight.
