These are xkcd comics featuring a complex, jargon-inducing, or otherwise very not easy to understand problem being broken down into simplified language.  This technique, as noted in [[547: Simple|the first comic to use it]], is prominently seen at {{w|simple:|the Simple English Wikipedia}}, and is commonly referred to as "layman's terms," although most of these comics take it a bit further than one normally would (hence the humor).
