It is worth noting that in spite of the intent of Snapchat, many users will take a screen shot of "snaps" that are sent to them creating a permanent copy of the image. This has led to embarrassment when users expected their sexually explicit snaps to only be seen by the recipient, but those images end up being seen by many more people especially if the copy gets posted on the internet.
