Explain xkcd: It's 'cause you're dumb.

(The mouseover to my "Talk" tab appeared as "Your talk page is shite.")

There is no content in this page.

Is it any wonder?

Sign your comments please[edit]

Please remember to sign your comments on the discussion pages with four tildes (~~~~). There have been quite a few places where you've forgotten to.
Also, your edit on the discussion page of Talk:964: Dorm Poster needlessly doubled the size of the comments section. Please format your comments responsibly. --Pudder (talk) 14:29, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

"Please sign your comments with four tildes. There have been quite a few places where you've forgotten to."
When I started commenting I had no idea what the requirements were.
If you could be so kind to link to all the bothersome little errors I am sure I can get around to fixing them for you one day.

I assume your latest entry on Talk:687: Dimensional Analysis was in reference to my comment above. Perhaps I came across as a little blunt, but the point of my message was that that edit in particular makes the discussion section needlessly large. As far as the comment on Talk:687: Dimensional Analysis, it doesn't have anything to do with the comic so would have been better on your talk page for example. --Pudder (talk) 17:02, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
I have no idea. Perhaps you feel it is a waste of your time to offer a quote?
Edit: I have just read the terrible text and in case you can't understand the context, it was intended for the author of the hidden complaint.
How much do all those electrons cost? I am sure if there is an urgent need, some of your more wealthy members can help you out?
I'd help out if it costs real money (or, at least, I'd like to think I might but I don't imagine I will be using this place any more as I can't stand to hurt people's feelings) but all my loose change goes into a tin I keep for a charity.
Maybe you are worried that all the busy visitors to "Explain xkcd because you are thick" comics will find my few lines to an ancient post an unbearable hindrance to their lives?

Admin here seconding, I've been cleaning up after you and I don't really want to have to. You make a lot of comments, so it would be really nice if I could add you to the list of people whose talk comments I don't check for formatting. Also, yeah, stay on topic and respond to messages through the relevant channels. Davidy²²[talk] 19:47, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
I am not sure what needlessly large is on a computer. Maybe you are thinking of people who are stuck with accessing the site through mobile phones?
If the website offers formatting techniques that you are unhappy with perhaps it will save you a great deal of time if you can get the engineers to change the website to suit you better?

From the tone of your reponses, it appears that you are upset about what I've written on this page. I don't expect people who are new to the site to know all about formatting and signing comments and the typical way things are laid out on the site. I joined not long ago and I've been as guilty as anyone else of not signing comments occasionally, putting things in the 'wrong' place, etc etc. My original comment on this page was simply a bit of advice, and when I believed you took issue with it, I even came back and apologised if I came across as blunt. I won't get into an argument about formatting styles, but again the second comment was just a piece of advice. I'm not here to be the police of this site, I'm not an admin, I'm simply a user like you. I hope this sets the record straight. --Pudder (talk) 09:46, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

Formatting[edit]

Here's an handy hint for you - After you've written out your insightful comment, and before you hit the 'Save page' button, you can use the 'Show preview' button to view it as it will appear on the page. This can help to spot if your comment is going to run into an existing comment, whether the spacing is right, that you have signed your comment etc. --Pudder (talk) 10:07, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

Complaint[edit]

Another user has taken issue with your comments on 500 and 522. Try to avoid deliberately inflammatory comments if you can. Davidy²²[talk] 19:34, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

If a user is having problems with the screen settings on my computer he shouldn't be accessing my computer. If he has problems with the word shite he is a hypocrite and should be told he isn't supposed to be reading a comic of this nature.
If it is something else, kindly tell me.
Edit: Just been there and seen what I wrote. If it is untrue remove or hide it. I think it is fair comment. If your poster comes from Texas throw him a banana.

Formatting of signature[edit]

When you sign your posts, can you please put your signature on the same line as your comment, as using the line break implies a separate comment thread. --Forrest (talk)10:00, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

I second that. Beanie (talk) 14:24, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
