Some variation on the following, mayhap?
Though you could apply something of style="border-right: ...; border-bottom: ..." to the cells of a straight 3x3 table (not using border-bottom for the third row, or border-right for the third cell in each row) without the ASCII-art aspect...
...Have a look in Help:Table#Border for inspiration? Though if there isn't a good old wikitemplate designed especially for this purpose (either usable or just source-copyable for direct use) I would be very surprised. 184.108.40.206 00:03, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
Hm, maybe. I was trying to have it look neat in the edit view too, though – perhaps a table is the best option. I’ll mess around with it some more when I’m at a computer :) Szeth Pancakes (talk) 03:07, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
How about enforced fix-width plus non-collapsing whitespace?

...it's the lead space (including in front of other spaces) that does the job there. Does a better job even than messing with the <tt>, <code> and <br /> tags (can make the same look, but only compounded horribly, per line, in the markup source) and looks very 'clean' in the raw. 220.127.116.11 13:10, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
