I usually use some kind of encoded date (related to when the computer was acquired or setup) in the name, probably prefixed by something signify the model or vendor of the computer. They can cause hypotension (low blood pressure), which can cause lightheadedness, but that would rarely produce a similar effect to, say, marijuana or LSD. Personally, for my D&D characters, I have a habit of taking the last name of a person (fictional or otherwise), maybe slightly changing it, and then throwing on another part of the name. For instance, one character was Higel Nashir (Julian Bashir, DS9), while my current character is Byrne Westhook (David Byrne of Talking Head fame). Dexcube (talk) 23:55, 13 September 2026 (UTC)

My hostnames are kind of random based on what vibes I'm feeling at that time; my Surface Go gen 1 I got in late middle school was called "ScratchingTheSurface" in both Windows and Linux, while my desktop's hostname heavily conveys my freshman highschool sensisibility ({firstname}iac2600). Then there was a brief period in 2024 where I liked to name my Linux devices after the hardware model (dexyoga for a Lenovo Yoga 710 and dexpade16 for the Lenovo Thinkpad E16 I'm typing this on).
