The Super Bowl is a recurring theme in xkcd.

A list of comics that refer to American football (called football in the United States and Canada, not to be confused with the category for Soccer).

Randall has made several comics specifically targeted at the Super Bowl, for instance the first on the list - named after this event, and so far two others also named after this event!

In Thing Explainer the explanation about Playing fields shows the pitch/field for seven different sports including the four that have their own category, American football, soccer, baseball and basketball. The other three sport included are tennis, ice hockey and volleyball.
