Ambox

Hey. Check my comments on {{incomplete}}. That should explain it. TheHYPO (talk) 14:49, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Edit: That should be {{Incomplete}}. I'm not really a fan of this new case-sensitivity. TheHYPO (talk) 14:49, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
PS: I think we have to proceed on the assumption that the scaling issue will be fixed at some point, or there won't be a very functional wiki to work with here. I'm proceeding on that basis, and still scaling comic images if I need to. I assume (at least I hope) someone in admin is trying to figure out the scaling issue and it will ultimately be resolved. Incorrect Caps

Sorry about that. I probably should have checked. I must have been tired when I wrote that. lcarsos (talk) 01:39, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

  • My first thought was "What are you talking about", then after digging through Recent Changes (and marking some spam along the way), I found the edit to your page. Don't worry about it. If I cared enough about the spelling, I'd go to the effort to change my username to "Blaise Pascal". I don't know why I picked the variant I did; probably a temporary technical limitation. Could you lowercase comic discussion in newcomictemplate?

Comic discussion is merely a redirect to comic discussion. It's a small change, but if the wiki software doesn't have to chase down one fewer redirect as it builds each page then the whole site will run a little bit faster (I'm sure you've noticed that it's been a little slow lately). Thanks. lcarsos (talk) 15:45, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

  • Done. Are you referencing my template in your Ruby script? If so, perhaps the template should be moved to a more central location.
I'm not, but the template is much easier for people to use (as evidenced by the number of people using your template vs. my script). I was doing a bit of bad extrapolating to make a point, that you're work is exponentially more valuable than mine because of its ease of use. :P lcarsos (talk) 19:34, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Which is funny, since I'm planning on using your script when I'm working at home. Using my template, I have a tab open to the "List all comics" page, a tab open to my template in edit mode, a tab open to the xkcd comic itself, and finally a tab open to the new page to edit, and I need to use Firebug (or functional equivalent) to get the transcript off the xkcd page. With your script, I just need a tab open to xkcd, a terminal window, and an emacs open, and I can edit a bunch for mass uploading. I did have to upgrade to Ruby1.9 though. Moved Ruby Importer question

Hi, just letting you know I moved your question to User Talk:Lcarsos#Multi-file Generation?. And I've added an almost explanation. I'm not entirely sure, I'll try it when I get to a computer that has Ruby installed on it. lcarsos (talk) 16:20, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
