- Note that xkcd usually only posts a new comic Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
- However, for several reasons comics have been posted on all week days
- In the early days of the comic it happened frequently, but it has become very rare since LiveJournal closed.
- Only 15: Just Alerting You falls into this category. Randall even mentioned that this was a special Sunday release - see comic 15's trivia.
- One notable exception that can lead to off-set release dates are April Fools' Day comics.
- This happened first time on a Sunday with 1037: Umwelt.
- And once more on a Sunday with 1975: Right Click.
- There is no explanation for why 152: Hamster Ball was released on a Sunday?
