Albert Einstein was a German-born theoretical physicist who is widely held as one of the most influential scientists. Best known for developing the theory of relativity.
Randall has made many references to him, and also drawn him in at least three of his comics. The first was called 1206: Einstein, the second 1233: Relativity, where the picture is taken from and then 2959: Beam of Light.
A joke used also by Randall is that Einstein got his ideas while working at the swiss patent office, because no patents came in in Switzerland. This is for instance mentioned in 505: A Bunch of Rocks.
